I was invited to discuss the Odyssey with Emily Wilson, whose translation has introduced Homer to a new generation of readers.

We even ventured into Indian epic, comparing Argos with the stray dog of the Mahabharata.

And, of course, the conversation ended on food, wine, and giggles.
